Company Profile

Pro Light Concepts was established in 1996 in Bolton, Lancashire and has twice relocated to larger premises. Our new 37,000 sq/ft complex in Darwen, Lancashire houses a state of the art warehouse, showroom and offices.

Its aims were to bring quality special effects to the entertainment and leisure Industry, e.g. mobile DJ’s, clubs, bars and hotels at a cost usually associated with larger European Manufacturers.

Andrew Jeffrey, Director started as a mobile DJ when he was 14 and left school to work in a DJ retail store when he was 17. At 19 years old he was made manager and within another 2 years bought the company outright. He soon started looking for products, which his competitors did not have; this search led him to have an extensive knowledge of the European lighting market. Retail sales continued to grow and in 1994 a move was made to what was and still is one of the largest and most respected DJ stores in the country. During the time in retail supplying specialist effects more and more retailers from around the country heard about the new type of effects and contacted Andrew thus inspiring him to start a separate distribution company.

Most special effect lighting at this time was imported from Italy and only suitable for installation. Pro Light Concepts wanted this lighting made smaller to appeal to mobile DJ's etc. The first lighting was imported from Poland and the company’s growth was slow but steady. Within 2 years lighting was also being imported from Taiwan who were producing specialist lighting at a very affordable price. During this time Pro light Concepts was slowly building a reputation as a distributor with reliable lighting at very affordable prices.

The number of Dealers was steadily growing with the help of an extra staff member and word of mouth. Stock availabliy was becoming a problem with the first building in Bolton as it was only 2000sq ft. In 1998 a move was made to Bury and the new warehouses total space exceeded 6000sq ft. After our relocation to Bury the business continued to grow with the company now having two on the road sales people, one based near London to service the south and Wales and several dedicated telephone sales people as well as seperate staff for accounts and office administration. Most of the workforce is made up of people who have worked in the industry for years and pride themselves on knowing what the customers want and need.

Between 2000 and 2002 more and more products were being sourced in China including Amplifiers and Speakers which in turn has opened up different sales avenues. Pro Light Concepts now works closely with some of the original Taiwan suppliers it has dealt with over the last 8 years and now design own exclusive lighting and audio products.

During 2002 the warehouse at Bury finally hit full capacity and more storage space had to be out- sourced at the freight company who handle out imports.

Over the last 8 years Pro Light Concepts have taken exclusive distribution of big industry names e.g. Acme, Evolution and American Audio and bought out one of it’s competitors, Spektronic. It’s own brands include Warrior Definitive Audio and Transcension show control.

Pro Light Concepts is a company now known throughout Europe and associated with quality products and services. It's dedication to service and quality continues with it's new custom built 2000sq/ft showroom and DMX training room. The new site has been purchased with the ability to extend the already huge warehouse by around 50% within the coming years, although at the rate new products are being introduced it could be sooner rather than later.

As the company grows so does its product lines. Recently added to the company's catalogue are a full range of high quality pre-packaged audio cables and quality drums of speaker and microphone cable. One of the company's biggest growth areas this year has been it's case range, with a case now available for most of it's equipment range. Another big area of growth is with the Transension Show Control range now offering a control system to suit most applications.

With so many new and interesting products it's no wonder more and more people are becoming part of the Concept.
