Pro Light
Concepts Ltd was
established in 1996
in Bolton,
Lancashire before
moving to Bury and
then onto it’s
current home in
Darwen. Our 37,000
sq/ft complex in
Darwen, Lancashire
integrates the
companies:
warehouse, showroom,
repair centre and
offices.
Its aims have
always been to bring
high quality,
innovative
luminaries and audio
products to the
entertainment and
leisure and
architectural
industry.
Andrew Jeffrey,
Managing Director
started as a mobile
DJ when he was 14
and left school to
work in a DJ retail
store when he was
17. At 19 years old
he was made manager
and within another 2
years bought the
company outright.
Andrew soon started
looking for
products, overseas
which his
competitors did not
have; this search
led him to have an
extensive knowledge
of the European
lighting market.
Retail sales
continued to grow
and in 1994 a move
was made to what was
one of the largest
and most respected
DJ stores in the
country. During the
time in retail
supplying specialist
effects more and
more retailers from
around the country
heard about the new
type of effects and
contacted Andrew
thus inspiring him
to start a separate
distribution
company.
Most special
effect lighting at
this time was
imported from Italy
and only suitable
for installation.
Pro Light Concepts
wanted this lighting
made smaller to
appeal to mobile
DJ's etc. The first
lighting was
imported from Poland
and the company’s
growth was slow but
steady. Within 2
years lighting was
also being imported
from Taiwan who were
producing specialist
lighting at a very
affordable price.
During this time Pro
Light Concepts was
slowly building a
reputation as a
distributor with
reliable lighting at
very affordable
prices.
The number of
Dealers was steadily
growing and stock
availability was
becoming a problem
as the first
building in Bolton
was only 2000sq ft.
In 1998 a move was
made to Bury and the
new warehouses total
space exceeded
6000sq ft. After the
relocation to Bury
the business
continued to grow
with the company now
employed two on the
road sales managers
who where
strategically
situated to service
the whole of the
U.K. Several
dedicated telephone
sales staff as well
as separate staff
for accounts and
office
administration where
also added to
complete the
team.
Between 2000 and
2002 more and more
products were being
sourced in China
including amplifiers
and speakers which
in turn opened up
different sales
avenues. Pro Light
Concepts still to
this day works
closely with some of
the original Taiwan
suppliers it has
dealt with from its
first
interception.
During 2002 the
warehouse at Bury
finally hit full
capacity and more
storage space had to
be out- sourced at
the freight company
who handle the
imports. This was
only a temporary
measure until later
the next year the
current company home
in Darwen was
found.
The current
complex in is now
home to our ever
expanding team of
staff, many of which
come from within the
industry which in
turn is a massive
benefit to customers
who call wanting
advice. Pro Light
Concepts is a
company now known
throughout the world
and associated with
quality products and
services. As the
company grows so
does its product
lines. Recently
added to the
company's catalogue
are many new
architectural and
theatre products
featuring energy
saving LEDs. These
new products have
further expanded the
product range and
brought many new
customers from
several new industry
sectors.
With so many new
and innovative
products it's no
surprise more and
more people are
becoming part of the
Concept. |
