Penn Elcom Armacab is a professional water-based textured coating developed for speaker cabinets, acoustic enclosures, flight cases and custom AV enclosures. It provides a durable, abrasion-resistant finish suitable for equipment that is regularly handled, transported and used in professional environments.
Designed for use on plywood, fibreboard and suitable pre-coated substrates, Armacab combines flexibility with tensile strength to help protect the surface beneath. The coating can be applied using a textured roller, pressure pot or pressure-assisted spray gun, making it suitable for individual repairs, custom builds and production work.
Ready-to-Use Water-Based Coating
Armacab is a low VOC, single-component coating supplied ready for use. It is self-priming and can be applied directly after the surface has been properly cleaned, filled and sanded. Where required for spray application, it may be thinned with up to 5% water.
A solid base coat can be applied before adding further coats to create the required level of texture. Honeycomb or coarse textured foam rollers can be used to create a raised finish, while spray application allows a controlled spatter pattern to be produced.
Black and White Armacab Paint
The Armacab range is available in black and white finishes, with 1L and 5L container sizes for each colour. Coverage, Drying and Application
Theoretical coverage is approximately 4.6m² per litre at 200 microns or 2.3m² per litre at 400 microns. The coating typically cures to the touch in approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on airflow, with full curing taking 7 days.
For best results, apply Armacab at temperatures above 10°C with good ventilation and airflow. Surfaces should be clean and free from loose material, dust, grease, fingerprints and other contamination before application.
