Prolight Concepts (UK) Limited is committed to conducting its business responsibly, ethically and with respect for internationally recognised human rights.
We recognise that modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking and child labour remain significant global issues and that businesses have an important role to play in identifying and reducing these risks within their operations and supply chains.
Prolight Concepts (UK) Limited does not currently meet the turnover threshold requiring publication of a modern slavery statement under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. Nevertheless, we have chosen to publish this statement voluntarily as part of our commitment to responsible business practices and transparent supply chain management.
About Our Business
Prolight Concepts (UK) Limited is a UK-based wholesale distributor of professional lighting, audio, staging and associated entertainment technology products.
We supply a broad range of trade customers across the UK and international markets, including retailers, installers, production companies, venues and other professional organisations.
Our principal operations, warehousing and distribution activities are based in the United Kingdom.
Our Supply Chain
Our products and components are sourced from a range of manufacturers and suppliers internationally, including suppliers located in China, Taiwan, the European Union and the United Kingdom.
We recognise that global manufacturing supply chains can present differing levels of modern slavery and labour-related risk depending upon factors including geographical location, manufacturing processes, use of subcontracted labour and the complexity of the supply chain.
We therefore seek to work with reputable suppliers and manufacturers with whom we can develop established and transparent commercial relationships.
Our Expectations of Suppliers
We expect our suppliers and business partners to operate ethically and in compliance with applicable employment, labour and human rights legislation in the countries in which they operate.
In particular, we do not tolerate:
• forced, bonded or compulsory labour;
• human trafficking or modern slavery;
• child labour in breach of applicable laws;
• unlawful or abusive employment practices; or
• the deliberate exploitation of vulnerable workers.
We expect suppliers to apply appropriate standards within their own organisations and, where reasonably practicable, throughout their own supply chains.
Due Diligence and Risk Management
Our approach to supply chain management is proportionate to the nature, location and risk profile of our suppliers.
When establishing and maintaining supplier relationships, we consider factors including the supplier's reputation, trading history, location, manufacturing capability and our experience of dealing with them.
We recognise that responsible supply chain management is an ongoing process. Where circumstances indicate an increased risk, we may seek further information or assurances from the supplier.
If we become aware of information giving rise to a credible concern regarding modern slavery, forced labour or serious labour exploitation, we will investigate the matter and determine appropriate action.
Depending upon the circumstances, this may include seeking further information, requiring corrective action or reconsidering our relationship with the supplier.
Our Employees
Our employees are employed in accordance with UK employment legislation and our established employment policies and procedures.
We aim to provide a working environment in which employees are treated fairly and with dignity and respect.
Employees are encouraged to raise concerns regarding unethical, unlawful or inappropriate conduct through the Company's established management and reporting channels. Any genuine concern relating to modern slavery or exploitation will be treated seriously.
Continuous Improvement
We recognise that addressing modern slavery risk requires continued awareness and review, particularly as international supply chains develop and change.
We will continue to consider how our supplier selection, purchasing practices and internal procedures can assist in identifying and mitigating modern slavery risks.
As our business and supply chain develop, we will review the proportionality and effectiveness of our approach and introduce additional measures where appropriate.
Responsibility and Review
Responsibility for our approach to modern slavery ultimately rests with the Board of Directors of Prolight Concepts (UK) Limited.
This statement has been published voluntarily and reflects our commitment to responsible and ethical business practices.
It will be reviewed periodically and updated where appropriate to reflect developments in our business, supply chain and relevant legislation and guidance.
