Professional Stage Roof and Event Structures

Prolight Concepts supplies stage roof systems and modular event structures for festivals, outdoor performances, front-of-house positions, hospitality areas, exhibitions and brand activations. The range includes engineered Global Truss roof packages alongside folding Konligo structures designed for efficient transport and deployment.

Stage roofs are temporary structures exposed to equipment loads, coverings, wind and changing site conditions. System selection must therefore consider the required covered area, overall footprint, suspended equipment, ground conditions, ballast or anchoring arrangement and documented environmental limits.

Choose the Right Stage Roof System

Global Truss Round-Arch Roof Systems

Global Truss 8 x 6m round-arch systems are available using standard F34 truss or F34PL truss. Curved roof sections incorporate keder rails for the compatible roof covering, while purpose-designed corners form the arch without separate corner wire bracing.

The complete 8 x 6m system measures approximately 8.82m wide, 6.6m deep and 4.88m high. Product information states up to 1,400kg of evenly distributed roof load plus dedicated front audio loading of up to 250kg per side, subject to the supplied structural report and exact build configuration.

A minimum ballast figure of 4,000kg is specified for the documented configuration. This must not be treated as a universal ballast requirement: the final arrangement must follow the structural report and account for the site, coverings, imposed loads and forecast conditions.

Konligo Arch 5x4

The Konligo Arch 5x4 frame kit, previously known as the Konligo Arko470, is a folding aluminium event structure with a 3 x 4m covered area and an approximate 5 x 4m overall footprint. Its vertical side profile makes the available covered space suitable for applications such as front of house, small performance areas, exhibition booths and event activations.

The frame folds into a compact transport format and can be deployed by a two-person crew using the recommended procedure and compatible power poles. Inner and outer roof membranes, backdrop panels and branding options are available separately.

Konligo Arch 8x4

The Konligo Arch 8x4 frame kit, previously known as the Konligo Fastival, uses a folding scissor-frame structure to create a larger temporary event cover. It provides an internal footprint of approximately 6 x 4m, with the wider structure covering an area approximately 8 x 4m.

The Arch 8x4 can be configured with compatible inner or outer roof membranes, backdrop panels, deck connections and a front canopy extension. Load limits, point loads, ballast and wind restrictions depend on the chosen configuration and coverings, so the current technical documentation must be followed for each installation.

Konligo Tent

The Konligo Tent frame kit is a compact folding shelter with an internal area of approximately 3 x 3m. Optional outer roof, rear and front membrane components allow the frame to be configured for temporary hospitality, exhibition, activation and support applications.

The Tent has different wind limits depending on the coverings fitted. Adding walls or surrounds changes the wind forces acting on the structure and must be included in the ballast or anchoring calculation.

Membranes, Backdrops and Coverings

Purpose-made membranes complete the roof and enclosure of compatible Konligo systems. Inner membranes sit within the frame, while outer versions cover the structure and may include additional support components. Rear panels provide visual separation and selected versions include zipped openings for access or ventilation.

Only use a membrane designed for the specific structure and configuration. Roofs, backdrops, side coverings and branding panels increase the surface area exposed to wind and can change the permitted operating limits.

Power Poles and Deployment Accessories

The Konligo Arch 8x4 Power Poles contain two telescopic deployment poles, connecting pins and a safety cable. They are designed to assist a two-person crew when raising the compatible Arch 8x4 structure on level ground.

Power poles are setup tools rather than permanent structural supports. They must be attached, operated and removed using the manufacturer’s specified sequence.

Roof Support Bars and Quick-Release Claws

Fixed-length quick-release support bars are available for bridging compatible 48–51mm truss chords and supporting roof canvas between truss sections. Separate claw components are also available for manufacturing approved custom support lengths.

These parts must only be used in their specified orientation and application. Welding or manufacturing custom components should be undertaken by suitably competent fabricators working to an approved design.

Planning a Stage Roof

  • Covered and overall area: Allow for the internal performance space, structural footprint, outriggers, ballast and safe perimeter.
  • Roof loading: Include lighting, audio, video, cabling, rigging hardware and any other suspended equipment.
  • Point loads: Check individual suspension points as well as the total permitted distributed load.
  • Ground conditions: Confirm bearing capacity, level, drainage and the location of underground services.
  • Ballast or anchoring: Follow the structural documentation for the exact site and system configuration.
  • Coverings: Include every roof, side, rear and branding membrane in the wind assessment.
  • Access: Provide adequate working space for assembly equipment, crew movement and emergency routes.
  • Weather plan: Establish monitoring, operating, evacuation and dismantling thresholds before the event.

Wind Management and Structural Safety

Published wind resistance figures apply only to the documented configuration with the specified ballast or anchoring, coverings and assembly method. They are not a guarantee that the structure may remain in service during every weather condition below the stated figure.

A site-specific wind management plan should identify who monitors conditions and what actions are required as wind speeds increase. This can include removing selected coverings, lowering loads, stopping the event, clearing the structure or dismantling it according to the manufacturer’s instructions and structural report.

Stage roofs and temporary event structures should be specified, erected, inspected and operated by competent personnel. Do not alter structural components, substitute unverified parts or attach equipment outside the approved loading positions. The completed structure must be formally checked before it is put into use.
