Wolfmix WING DMX Lighting Control WingWolfmix WING is the companion controller for the Wolfmix W1, designed to add motorised faders, expanded fixture control, dedicated cue playback and a customisable control surface to the Wolfmix system. Compatible with W1 MK1, MK2 and MK3, WING connects to W1 using a single USB cable and the two devices operate as one integrated lighting control system.
WING combines 8 motorised faders, 8 OLED displays, an 8 x 5 RGB button matrix, dedicated group controls, a main output fader and four encoders with dedicated CUE LIST, CONTROL and MAPPING modes. Together with W1, the system supports up to 8 DMX universes.
Wolfmix WING and W1
When connected to Wolfmix W1, WING expands the physical control available to the operator while retaining the familiar Wolfmix workflow. Projects transfer automatically when WING is connected to W1, while the PIN function allows Cue List, Control or Mapping to remain active on WING while W1 is used independently.
The system provides 8 fixture groups, with each group divisible into 8 subgroups. This allows selected fixtures, or individual elements within compatible fixtures, to be controlled separately while remaining part of the wider group structure.
Motorised Fader Lighting Control
Wolfmix WING features 8 motorised faders with capacitive touch fader caps and RGB lightguides. Eight OLED strip displays identify control parameters, while the 8 x 5 RGB button matrix provides direct access to groups, fixtures, presets and other assigned functions.
A dedicated main fader provides overall output control, with physical OK/GO and CANCEL buttons for cue and control functions. Dedicated SCROLL and FINE encoders are joined by two assignable encoders, with paging controls allowing access to additional matrix and fader pages.
Wolfmix WING Cue List
CUE LIST allows presets to be arranged and played in sequence for songs, scenes, acts and other programmed sections of a show. Up to 5 presets can be stacked within a cue where they control different parts, with fade time, hold time, automatic cue jumps and manual GO commands available.
WING supports up to 5000 cues, up to 1000 cues per cue list and up to 100 cue lists. MIDI Time Code input is also supported, allowing cue playback to follow external timecode.
Direct Fixture Control
CONTROL mode places fixtures across the WING matrix for direct adjustment using the motorised faders. Fixtures can be filtered by group or subgroup, with selection macros available for faster fixture selection.
Parameters including dimmer, colour, pan, tilt, zoom, iris, focus, gobo rotation and prism rotation can be accessed through the fader banks. Up to 32 individual control edits can be stored within a preset.
Customisable Mapping
MAPPING allows the WING control surface to be configured around the way a show is operated. Four assignable pages are available for the 8 x 5 matrix, 8 motorised faders and assignable encoders.
Wolfmix functions including group dimmers, group solo, flash, presets, live edits, macros, manual DMX, effects and Cue List functions can be assigned to the surface. Controls which are not assigned to a Wolfmix function can send and receive generic MIDI for compatible external hardware and software.
MIDI Control
Wolfmix WING can communicate with compatible MIDI hardware and software over USB-C. It can be connected to a computer and selected as the MIDI source, with compatible software maps or MIDI learn functions used to assign WING faders and matrix buttons.
DMX Output and Universes
WING provides four DMX output connections comprising 2 x 3-pin DMX OUT XLR connectors and 2 x 5-pin DMX OUT XLR connectors. Each output can be freely assigned to an available universe.
WING supports up to 4 DMX universes and 2048 channels, with an add-on required for universes 3 and 4. When WING is fused with Wolfmix W1, up to 8 DMX universes can be used. The system supports up to 680 fixtures and 1500 beams.
