Portable Battery Power for Professional Applications

Prolight Concepts supplies Instagrid portable power equipment for locations where mains electricity is unavailable, impractical or restricted. With no combustion engine, these battery-powered systems provide power without exhaust emissions at the point of use and avoid the engine noise and fuel handling associated with conventional generators.

Applications include event production, location filming, lighting, audio equipment, tools and temporary installations. Always confirm the continuous power, peak demand, voltage, connector type and required operating time of the equipment before selecting a system.

Choose the Right Instagrid Power System

Instagrid ONE

Instagrid ONE is a portable 230V AC battery supply with a 3.6kW rated output, up to 18kW peak output and 2,074Wh battery capacity. It includes a BS 1363 socket and a powerCON TRUE1 TOP connection, making it suitable for compatible single-phase equipment with demanding start-up loads.

Instagrid LINK

Instagrid LINK is a 230V power distributor designed for Instagrid ONE systems and other compatible AC sources. It provides three individually RCD-protected 16A CEE outputs and can connect up to three Instagrid ONE units to extend available energy. Its mains-to-battery switching function supports applications where continuity of supply is required, subject to equipment compatibility.

Instagrid LINK MAX

Instagrid LINK MAX combines exactly three Instagrid ONE units to provide a 400V three-phase, 16A output. The completed system delivers an 11kW rated output and up to 54kW peak power for compatible three-phase equipment.

Planning Portable Power Requirements

  • Continuous load: Add the normal operating wattage of every connected device.
  • Start-up demand: Allow for the higher peak current required by motors, compressors, transformers and some lighting equipment.
  • Runtime: Estimate operating time from battery capacity and the actual duty cycle of the connected load.
  • Voltage and phase: Confirm whether the equipment requires 230V single-phase or 400V three-phase power.
  • Connections: Check socket formats, cable ratings and any adaptors or distribution equipment required.
  • Environment: Follow the stated IP rating, charging temperature and operating conditions for each product.

Portable battery power does not remove the need for proper electrical planning.
