Video

Professional video systems for live production, broadcast, events and installations, including AV distribution, extenders, AV over IP, automation, PTZ cameras, wireless transmission, capture, streaming, switching, processing and LED video panels.

Professional Video and AV Systems

Prolight Concepts supplies professional video equipment for live events, production, broadcast, education, corporate presentation and fixed installation. The range covers signal acquisition, transmission, distribution, switching, processing, control and display, allowing complete video workflows to be assembled around the required sources and destinations.

Select equipment according to the signal format, resolution, frame rate, colour format, transmission distance, latency, control method and number of inputs and outputs. Features such as HDR, HDCP, EDID management, scaling, embedded audio and Power over Ethernet vary between products and should be confirmed throughout the complete signal chain.

AV Control and Automation

AV control and automation brings displays, sources, switchers and supporting equipment together within a coordinated installation. Depending on the selected system, control may be provided through physical interfaces, software, network commands, scheduling or integration with a wider room-control platform.

Plan which equipment must be controlled, the communication method used by each device and what should happen during start-up, shutdown or source selection. Control compatibility should be verified rather than assumed from the presence of a network or serial connection.

AV Distribution and Extenders

AV distribution and extenders carry video and associated signals beyond the practical distance of a conventional source cable or distribute one or more sources to several destinations. The range includes suitable matrix, splitter, transmitter and receiver products for professional installations.

Available technologies may use dedicated category cable, HDBaseT, fibre or conventional AV connections. Check the supported resolution, maximum distance, cable specification, HDCP version, HDR format, audio handling and any bidirectional control or power features. Maximum transmission distances normally depend on the signal format and cable being used.

AV over IP

AV over IP uses network-connected encoders and decoders to route video between compatible endpoints. It can provide flexible one-to-one, one-to-many and many-to-many distribution without requiring a fixed matrix input and output arrangement.

A successful AV-over-IP deployment depends on the codec, bandwidth, latency, image quality, network topology and switch configuration. Confirm whether the system requires dedicated VLANs, multicast management, specific port speeds or PoE. The network should be designed around the combined traffic of every active stream rather than a single endpoint.

Video Capture and Streaming

video capture and streaming equipment converts compatible camera, presentation or programme feeds for recording, conferencing, contribution or online delivery. Products may provide direct USB connectivity, hardware encoding, network streaming or integration with production software.

Check the video inputs, capture resolution, frame rate, audio support, codec, computer requirements and compatibility with the intended platform. Streaming reliability also depends on the available upload bandwidth and network stability, not just the capability of the capture device.

Wireless AV Transmission Systems

AV transmission systems include Hollyland wireless video equipment for carrying compatible camera feeds without a fixed signal cable. The range includes complete transmitter and receiver kits alongside selected individual transmitters and receivers.

Choose a system according to its video connections, supported resolution, monitoring requirements, stated latency and required transmission range. Published wireless distances are normally measured under favourable line-of-sight conditions; walls, structures, competing wireless systems and local radio conditions can reduce performance.

PTZ Cameras

PTZ cameras combine remote pan, tilt and zoom operation for presentations, conferencing, worship, education, streaming and live production. The current range includes the Hollyland Astra P1 4K PTZ camera.

Consider the required field of view, zoom range, low-light performance, output connections, mounting position and control protocol. Also confirm whether video, control and power can use the planned network connection and whether the installation requires local or remote monitoring.

Video Switching and Presentation Systems

video switching and presentation systems include HDMI matrices, HDMI and HDBaseT routing, presentation switchers, wireless BYOD systems, extenders, splitters and compatible connection accessories.

A matrix routes selected sources independently to multiple outputs, while a presentation switcher is generally intended to simplify source selection and collaboration within a room. Some systems incorporate scaling, audio de-embedding, wireless presentation or category-cable extension, but these capabilities remain product-specific.

Video Processing

video processing includes NovaStar equipment for controlling and managing compatible LED video displays. The range currently includes the NovaStar MCTRL300 and VX16S.

Video processors should be selected according to the input formats, output capacity, total pixel load, cabinet mapping and required scaling or switching functions. Confirm compatibility with the receiving cards and LED panel configuration before commissioning the system.

LED Video Panels

video panels include ADJ LED display cabinets and the supporting hardware required to build compatible screens. Available products cover panel cabinets, rigging bars, corner components, service tools and system accessories.

Choose panels according to pixel pitch, viewing distance, brightness, refresh rate, cabinet dimensions, processing platform and intended environment. A complete display also requires correctly specified power, data distribution, processing, mounting hardware and structural support.

Managed Network Switches

Professional AV-over-IP systems require network infrastructure capable of carrying the intended traffic. Explore managed network switches, including NETGEAR AV models with different port counts, speeds, fibre uplinks and PoE capabilities.

Not every PoE or managed switch is automatically suitable for every video platform. Check the system manufacturer’s network requirements and configure multicast, VLAN, QoS and other features as required by the selected AV protocol.

Planning a Professional Video System

  • Sources and destinations: List every camera, media player, computer, display, processor and recording device.
  • Signal format: Confirm HDMI, SDI, USB, HDBaseT, fibre or network connectivity at each point.
  • Resolution and frame rate: Ensure every device supports the required production and display format.
  • Transmission distance: Choose direct cabling, extension, fibre, wireless or AV over IP according to the route.
  • Copy protection: Check HDCP compatibility when distributing protected HDMI sources.
  • Latency: Consider the delay introduced by wireless links, scaling, encoding, decoding and display processing.
  • Audio: Plan whether sound remains embedded, is de-embedded or travels through a separate audio system.
  • Control: Confirm the required network, serial, infrared, USB or contact-closure interfaces.
  • Bandwidth: Calculate network and streaming capacity across all simultaneous video feeds.
  • Resilience: Identify any requirement for backup sources, redundant networks or alternative signal paths.

Signal Compatibility and Installation

The maximum capability of a video system is determined by its least capable component. Cables, adaptors, extenders, matrices, processors and displays must all support the intended bandwidth and signal features.

Test the complete workflow using the intended resolutions, cable lengths and content before installation or deployment. For networked systems, retain backups of working switch, endpoint and routing configurations. Firmware versions should also be checked before commissioning interconnected equipment.
