Cases, Racks and Bags

Protect, transport and organise professional lighting, audio and AV equipment with flight cases, padded equipment bags, wooden 19-inch rack sleeves, rack accessories and installation wall plates.

Cases, racks and bags for professional equipment

This department covers protective transport solutions and installation hardware for lighting fixtures, mixers, controllers, rackmount equipment, cables and accessories. Choose between rigid flight cases for demanding transport, lighter padded bags for portable equipment, wooden rack sleeves for 19-inch hardware, and rack components for permanent or custom installations.

Which type of equipment case do you need?

  • Flight cases provide rigid protection for equipment that is regularly transported, stored or handled by production and hire crews. Options include cases designed for specific fixtures, multi-unit cases, universal equipment cases and 19-inch rack formats.
  • Padded equipment bags offer a lighter carrying solution for compatible lighting fixtures and accessories. They are useful where easier handling and compact storage matter more than the rigid protection of a flight case.
  • Rack sleeves provide wooden housings for standard 19-inch rackmount equipment, with sizes available from compact units through to larger rack capacities.
  • Installation racks and wall plates include rack shelves, panels, clip nuts, wall plates and related hardware for organised AV, audio, data and control installations.

Choosing a flight case for lighting or AV equipment

Begin by checking whether a case is designed for a specific product or is a universal format. Product-specific cases can provide a closer internal fit, while universal cases offer more flexibility when equipment changes. Also check the internal dimensions, number of units accommodated, lid and divider arrangement, handle positions, wheel provision and overall packed weight.

Compatibility should always be confirmed against the individual case description or technical drawing. A case intended for a visually similar fixture may not provide the correct clearance for brackets, connectors or accessories.

Flight case or padded bag?

A flight case is generally the better choice for repeated touring, vehicle loading, equipment hire and situations where greater impact protection is required. A padded bag is lighter and easier to store, making it suitable for equipment carried personally or transported with more controlled handling. Neither format should be assumed to provide weather protection unless this is stated in the individual product specification.

Planning a 19-inch rack or installation

Check the rack-unit height, equipment depth, ventilation requirements, cable access and whether front or rear connections must remain accessible. Shelves support equipment that is not rackmountable, while blanking and vented panels can help create a tidy layout. Punched panels and wall plates provide mounting positions for compatible power, audio, data and control connectors.
