Prolight Concepts supplies wheeled meat racks and transport trolleys for events, touring productions, venues, warehouses and hire operations. These systems help crews move bulky equipment efficiently during preparation, loading, installation and breakdown.

Choose the Right Rack or Trolley
Meat Racks
Meat racks are wheeled frames designed to transport and organise compatible lighting fixtures, rigging equipment and production accessories. Open-frame construction provides flexible loading, while horizontal tubes can be configured to support suitable hanging fixtures.
Modular steel models use a 600mm quarter-pack width format and can be assembled from separate base, frame, tube and locking components. Open-sided frames are also available for taller fixtures where a conventional closed frame would restrict access or loading height.
Folding Meat Racks
Folding models reduce the storage space required when the rack is not in use. The current FMR lightweight folding meat rack uses an adjustable aluminium frame, includes a protective cover and has a stated load capacity of 453kg. It can be stacked two high only in the configuration specified by the manufacturer.
Equipment Trolleys
Equipment trolleys provide a flexible option for moving cases, cables, stands and general production equipment. The current Kit Kart converts between a two-wheel hand truck and a four-wheel utility cart, extends to different platform lengths and has a stated load capacity of 300kg.
Staging and Stage Weight Trolleys
Staging trolleys are intended for organising and transporting compatible stage components, while stage weight trolleys provide a dedicated solution for dense stage weights. Check the product dimensions and capacity against the exact components being transported.
Planning Equipment Transport
- Load capacity: Add the weight of every item and remain within the stated capacity of the complete rack or trolley.
- Equipment dimensions: Confirm that fixtures, cases or stage components fit securely without projecting into access routes.
- Access: Measure doors, corridors, ramps, lifts and vehicle openings before choosing the rack width and height.
- Castors: Consider wheel diameter, braking arrangement and suitability for the intended floor surface.
- Storage: Folding and modular designs can reduce the space required between jobs.
- Vehicle loading: Check the packed dimensions and plan suitable restraint points before transport.
Safe Loading and Handling
Distribute weight evenly and keep the centre of gravity as low as the equipment configuration allows. Secure fixtures and loose components so they cannot swing, roll or fall while the rack is moving. Braked castors help hold equipment during loading, but the rack must still be positioned on a suitable level surface.
Do not exceed the stated product capacity or use a transport rack for lifting people or suspended loads. Take additional care on thresholds, slopes and loading ramps, and confirm that floors, lifts and vehicle tail lifts can support the combined weight of the trolley and its contents.
Inspect frames, locking pins, tubes, handles, castors and brakes regularly. Damaged or missing components should be replaced before the rack or trolley is returned to service. Replacement pins, bars and covers are available for selected meat rack systems.
