Consumables

Consumables for professional AV, staging, installation and workshop use, including gaffer and insulation tapes, cable ties, heat-shrink tubing, batteries, specialist cabinet paint and selected effects consumables.

Consumables for events, installations and AV workshops

This department brings together frequently replaced materials used for preparing, identifying, protecting and maintaining professional equipment. The range covers stage and electrical tapes, cable ties, heat-shrink tubing, batteries, textured cabinet paint and selected consumables for special effects equipment.

Tapes for stages, cables and installations

Self-adhesive tapes include cloth gaffer tape, PVC insulation tape, hazard marking tape, hook-and-loop tape and specialist identification products. Choose the tape according to the surface, required adhesion, width, colour and whether it needs to be removed after temporary use.

Gaffer tape is commonly used for temporary stage and cable-management tasks, while PVC insulation tape is intended for suitable electrical insulation, identification and bundling applications. Adhesive performance and removability vary, so test the selected tape before applying it to delicate, painted or finished surfaces.

Cable ties, straps and heat-shrink tubing

Cable ties and straps are available in different lengths, widths, colours and pack sizes for securing and organising cables. Check the dimensions, material and environmental suitability when choosing ties for permanent installation, outdoor use or load-sensitive applications. Standard cable ties should not be used as substitutes for rated rigging or safety hardware.

Heat-shrink tubing and sleeving help insulate, identify and protect suitable cable joints, terminations and assemblies. Options include multiple diameters, clear and black finishes, and different supplied lengths. Select the starting diameter and shrink ratio to suit the connector, cable or joint, and follow the product instructions when applying heat.

Batteries for professional equipment

Batteries include AA, AAA and 9V alkaline formats alongside selected lithium coin cells. These sizes are used across compatible wireless microphones, remote controls, test equipment and other portable devices. Always match the battery chemistry, voltage and size specified by the equipment manufacturer, and replace complete sets together where instructed.

Speaker cabinet and flight case paint

Textured cabinet paint provides a specialist finish for compatible wooden loudspeaker cabinets, acoustic enclosures and flight cases. Options include black and white water-based coatings in different container sizes for repairs, refurbishment and new cabinet construction. Surface preparation, application method, ventilation and curing requirements should be checked before use.

Special effects consumables

Effects powders and consumables include selected granules intended for compatible effects machines. Only use the consumable specified by the equipment manufacturer, as powders, granules and fluids are not interchangeable between different types of effects equipment.

For smoke, haze, bubble and snow liquids, visit atmospheric fluids and accessories. Confetti and streamers are available within the Special Effects department. Check machine compatibility, venue restrictions, ventilation requirements and the individual product instructions before use.
