Select each stand or support system according to the total load, maximum working height, footprint, mounting interface and intended application. Product capacities apply only when equipment is correctly assembled and used in the configuration specified by its manufacturer.
Choose the Right Stand or Lifter
Tripod Stands and T-Bars
Tripod stands provide portable floor support for compatible lighting fixtures, speakers and accessories. A correctly opened tripod creates a broad footprint, while telescopic sections allow the operating height to be adjusted.
T-bars provide several mounting positions across one stand. When loading a T-bar, distribute the equipment evenly, include the weight of clamps and cables, and remain within the stated capacity of the stand and bar.
Telescopic Lifters
telescopic lifters use extending mast sections and a winch mechanism to raise compatible lighting bars, truss and structures. Models are available with different maximum heights, footprints, load capacities, locking systems and adaptor connections.
Check both the maximum load and the conditions attached to that rating. The permitted capacity may vary with the operating height, adaptor, load position or configuration. Automatic section locks provide additional load protection but do not replace correct setup and operating procedures.
Front-Loading Lifters
front-loading lifters use forks or compatible adaptors that allow suitable equipment to be loaded at an accessible height before being raised. Selected models are designed for truss or line-array applications and use outriggers or stabilisers to create the required working footprint.
Front-loading models differ considerably in capacity and configuration. Some specialist towers have separate ratings for dynamic lifting and structural support modes. Always use the correct rating for the intended operating mode rather than treating the largest figure shown as a general lifting capacity.
Ground Support Tower Systems
ground support tower systems provide components for supporting and raising compatible truss structures from floor level. A complete system must be designed around the structure, imposed loads, tower spacing, lifting method, base configuration and environmental conditions.
Ground support structures should be planned and assembled by competent personnel using compatible components and an appropriate structural design. Individual parts must not be combined into an unverified lifting or support arrangement.
LED Wall Support Systems
The LED wall support system includes modular bases, ladder sections, support arms, joining components and reinforcement bars for compatible floor-supported LED displays. Components can be configured for selected straight or curved layouts.
Design the support around the panel dimensions, combined screen weight, overall height, centre of gravity and permitted system configuration. Confirm compatibility between the LED cabinets and mounting plates before assembly.
Brackets and Floor Supports
brackets include wall-mounting, floor-support and equipment-specific options. Check the mounting pattern, load rating, adjustment range, construction and fixing requirements. The wall, floor or supporting structure must be suitable for the complete installed load.
flat-based stands provide an alternative to tripod designs where a different footprint or appearance is required. Stability still depends on the product rating, surface, height and position of the supported load.
Microphone and Followspot Stands
microphone stands and accessories include stands, clips and thread adaptors for wired and wireless microphones. Match the clip diameter and thread format to the microphone and stand.
followspot stands provide dedicated support for manually operated lighting fixtures. Check the required spigot, height range and Working Load Limit, and allow enough clear space for the operator and fixture movement.

Planning a Stand or Lifting System
- Total load: Include fixtures, speakers, truss, clamps, adaptors, cables and accessories.
- Maximum height: Use the lowest practical height and remain within the manufacturer’s operating limits.
- Footprint: Allow enough clear space for legs, outriggers, stabilisers and safe operator access.
- Mounting interface: Confirm spigot diameter, fork type, thread, clamp or adaptor compatibility.
- Load position: Keep loads balanced and positioned as specified for the stand or lifter.
- Surface: Set equipment on a firm, level surface capable of carrying the complete imposed load.
- Environment: Account for wind, weather, ground conditions and audience access where applicable.
Safe Setup and Operation
Inspect stands and lifters before each use, paying particular attention to mast sections, locking pins, winches, wire ropes, forks, adaptors, legs, stabilisers and fixings. Remove equipment from service if any component is damaged, distorted, excessively worn or missing.
Fully deploy the specified legs or outriggers, level the base and engage every safety lock before loading or raising equipment. Do not move a loaded stand, exceed its stated capacity or allow people beneath a raised load. Lifting towers and ground support systems should only be operated by suitably competent personnel following the manufacturer’s instructions and an appropriate site risk assessment.
